Product Overview

The O-ring is used to prevent the leakage of vapors from Breathing Circuit Gas (BCG) in an anesthesia delivery machine. A common cause of vapor leakage is the absent or damaged O-ring. It is the most common type of seal used in a wide range of static or dynamic applications. It is seated in a groove and it is compressed between two or more parts to create an excellent seal. It is generally made of rubber due to which it returns to its original shape on compression. This O-ring is made of Viton® material which is a fluorocarbon elastomer which excels in resisting high temperatures and compression in various environmental conditions. Hence the O-ring is used in breathing circuits where oxygen and anesthetic gases are to be transported without any leakage of gases. FKM or Fluorocarbon rubber O-rings are one of the most versatile and widely used sealing material.
