Product Overview

Torsion Springs are springs that apply a force or torque when they are twisted. It is also used to maintain a rotational pressure between surfaces. There are different types of torsion springs, helical and spiral, in which helical springs are most commonly used. Other spring types includes square, rectangular or flat, use depends on the application. It can be made up of different materials including stainless steel, titanium and copper alloys. The springs should be designed to wind the same direction as the coil, which can be either clockwise or anti- clockwise to get the maximum load. When pressure is applied to the spring it forces the coil to wind tighter, thus storing mechanical energy. When the force holding the closed system is released, it exerts the stored energy that helps for the movement of the attached object. Torsion springs are provided as a part of Giraffe™ OmniBed, Modular, MIC Panda™ iRES Warmer and MIC - Other Infant Care. They are highly reliable, durable and efficient.
