Product Overview

The Screw Shoulder 4 Diameter x 4L M3 x 0.5 Stainless Steel is a part used in Anesthesia Delivery. The shoulder screws are a type of machine screw with integral threads that are only present on half or less than half of the screw shank. A shoulder screw has a partially smooth shaft that will allow the bolted material some rotation and movement around the screw axis, while the threaded end will typically have a nut to maintain the screw's position. These screws must be used with predrilled holes, and are common in machinery with vibration and heat variations. These screws help in the movement of the dies to open and close them during the injection molding process. A shoulder screw has a smooth shank top, or shoulder, with a narrower, threaded tip at the bottom. Typically, separate dimensions are specified for the shoulder and the threaded part of the shaft. These steels are higher tensile and creep strengths at elevated temperatures than other austenitic alloys. Stainless steel also maintains an excellent toughness.
