Product Overview

This aluminium filter set is used for determining the Half Value Layer (HVL) of X-Ray beams which specify the quality of X-Ray beams. For a given kVp, a measurement of the HVL gives information on the total filtration in the x-ray beam, where the low filtration value results in unnecessary radiation to the patient and a very high HVL may require increased kVp and mAs, increasing tube loading and reducing tube life. This Half Value Layer attenuator set has 9 numbers of aluminum sheets of size 4X4 inches made up of 99% pure aluminium alloy. These aluminium sheets have thickness ranging from 0.1 mm to 2.0 mm and these sheets comes in a plastic storage case which helps in maintaining the flatness of sheets and also provides ease of storage and secured transportation. This aluminium filter set is compatible for use in the GE's X-Ray Systems.
