Product Overview

The Free Breathing Valve and Mechanical Overpressure Valve (MOPV) are provided as parts of the vent engine of the Breathing Circuit Gas (BCG) of a ventilator. The drive gas (O₂ or air) enters the vent engine at a pressure towards the bellows assembly. The ventilator is programmed to supply a specified number of breaths per minute to the patient at a specified pressure. Hence pressure is regulated by a pressure regulator, inspiratory flow control valve and MOPV. MOPV acts as a pressure limit control at third level. It is a redundant mechanical valve and operates irrespective of electrical power. This free breathing valve permits the patient to inhale if patient needs a breath in between the programmed cycles thus ensuring that he/she can spontaneously breathe. It is closed upon mechanical inspiration. The underside of vent engine contains MOPV and free breathing valve interface manifold along with a flapper valve placed in the seat of breathing valve and sealed by O-ring. The manifold forms a mechanical driving force for gases to enter the bellows assembly in a controlled condition. This 21 Hole cap is made up of Polycarbonate and ABS plastic that offers good mechanical properties and assures reliable operation. The cap comes with raised markings for part number and material. The item is compatible with GE's Aisys, Avance, Aestiva and Aespire Anesthesia Delivery System. The free valve will be shipped in suitable packaging to provide adequate protection during transit.
