Product Overview

  • The Nellcor Oximax SpO2 upgrade kit comes as a part of the Infant warmers and Incubators. The Oximax SpO2 uses pulse oximetry, a continuous non-invasive arterial oxygen saturation (SpO2) and pulse rate monitoring process for measuring the oxygen levels in blood, to measure the functional oxygen saturation in the blood. Pulse oximetry works by applying a sensor to a pulsating arteriolar vascular bed, such as a finger or toe. The sensor contains a dual light source and a photo detector. It uses a two-wavelength pulsatile system to distinguish between oxygenated and deoxygenated blood. The Nellcor sensors contain LEDs that emit red light at a wavelength of approximately 660 NM and infrared light at a wavelength of approximately 900 NM. The total optical output power of the sensor LEDs is less than 15 mW. The ratio of light absorbed is translated into a measurement of functional oxygen saturation. The kit containing the patient cable and a Probe, is provided to upgrade the process such that the unit functions with advanced technology.
